Human Resources Generalist

Our client, a highly established organization in the food manufacturing industry, currently has a rare opportunity for an HR Generalist to join their team.

As the HR Generalist, the areas of your responsibilities will include:

What will help you succeed:

  • Post secondary education, preference for those with a HR designation
  • Comprehensive understanding of Federal and Provincial labor laws, OSHA regulations, Conflict Resolution, Training & Development Facilitation, Performance Management, Compensation & Benefits, Recruiting large hourly workforces in a short timeframe
  •  Ability to improve an organization’s talent pool, culture and overall performance through progressive human resources practices
  • Experience leading a Human Resources team in a manufacturing environment – able to demonstrate how they have led/improved metrics in at least 3 of the following functional areas: Health & Safety; Attendance Management; Performance Management; Recruitment
  • Strong communication, facilitation and leadership skills
  • Strong analytical ability with a bias for making practical decisions that are actionable
  • High level of integrity
  • Proven ability in organizing and facilitating program roll outs with managers, supervisors and hourly personnel
  • Ability to deal effectively with all levels of hourly and management personnel
  • Disciplined at self and time management to deliver results without significant oversight by a manager
  • Willingness and proven ability to make decisions and hold people accountable for their performance
  • Computer skills – Excellent MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Refined Project Management skills
  • Ability to create and maintain an environment that is fun to be a part of even given stretch targets – not a bureaucratic type of attitude
  • Leader that measures their own success by that of the company they work for, individuals and teams they lead and professionals they partner with both internally and externally
