Senior Accountant, AP

The award-winning Vancouver Convention Centre is currently in search for a Senior Accountant, AP to join our team. This critical role oversee day-to-day operations and assists management in decision making processes by reviewing and analyzing related business activities. This position ensures timely payments of vendor invoices and expense vouchers, maintains accurate records and control reports, completes month-end procedures and reports, and reconciles discrepancies/disputes to ensure accurate expense processing.

  • Leads the Accounts Payable function, including vendor relations.
  • Reviews and maintains AP related systems, procedures and policies, ensuring adherence to company guidelines. Takes an active part in development and implementation of the new policies and procedures.
  • Monitors and reconciles the disbursement bank account for PavCo.
  • Audits in-house supplier invoices for accurate coding to event and G/L accounts.
  • Documents, communicates, and acts upon all variances identified. Participates in audit processes and ensures compliance with operating procedures and regulations.
  • Maintains confidentiality of propriety information, protects company assets and protects the privacy and security of our guests and coworkers.
  • Records, stores, and analyzes information using company software.
  • Supports professional development of the AP team, aimed to ensure high performance standards and engagement level.



  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; or a combination of relevant education and experience
  • Minimum three years’ work experience in Accounts Payable with one year in leadership role
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office in particular Excel.
  • Experience with centralized financial software programs.
  • Knowledge of EBMS software is an asset.
