Payroll Administrator

Job Summary

Located in North Vancouver, you will be responsible for overseeing and processing all aspects of payroll administration for over 300 Canadian and US staff. You will ensure that the payroll process runs smoothly and without errors by applying fundamental accounting practices and utilizing your extensive knowledge of payroll systems, comprehensive tax knowledge and payroll best practices.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Oversee and process the semi-monthly payroll
  • Expert in Canadian & US payroll and knowledge of all corresponding laws and regulations
  • Oversee the administration of retirement plans and expense reimbursement
  • Act as subject matter expert for the Finance team on payroll policies/procedures and taxation regulations
  • Perform all payroll and benefit related accounting and reconciliation
  • Help develop and implement new and/or revised policies/procedures to ensure efficient processing of the payroll and ongoing compliance related matters

Qualifications and Skills

  • Extremely organized and friendly
  • 5 or more years' experience in CAD & US payroll
  • Proficiency in ADP system or similar program
  • Demonstrated ability to protect and maintain confidential and sensitive information
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation, an asset
  • A proven ability to multi-task, focus, problem solve, remain impartial and effectively and efficiently work without supervision
